How are they supposed to get in additional money for further development? It's either "overpriced DLCs" or subscription. Not wanting to support Overkill's DLC model, a lot of unique weapons are behind a paywall, a lot of which are often considered almost mandatory for something like DW loud.
PAYDAY 2 DLC UNLOCKER BLTBLT FULL
Overkill's shitty code at work.Īnd I'm marked a cheater because I picked up some nades from the armory after throwing all 3 I had with me or just because I enjoyed that Galil that I paid for, at full price.Īnd now they're considering intermittently denying my access to the game I paid for, bought every single DLC for, based on decisions spewed out of a known borked anticheat? An anticheat that can't even detect the most basic forms of cheat in Payday 2, full skill hacking and infinite joker spawns, but surprisingly effective at a DRM role? Am I supposed to just sit here and see them shovel this bullshit down my throat?ĭon't take me wrong, I despise these whiners as much as everyone else, but this change hurts everyone alike. I'm denied the shank because I'm certainly not in the group while playing as Old Fucking Hox - yeah, absolutely possible that I'm not in the group.
See, the problem is the same everywhere - Overkill write absolutely horrendous code and don't even bother to QA.īecause I'm locked out of Old Hox because somehow I'm not in a Steam group that I'm in. I'm actually considering using an unlocker just for community contents. And also I'm personally butthurt that they are prioritising the almighty dollar over our interests. I mean, they've apparently fixed the false positives in the beta, but who's to say there won't be MORE such shenanigans in the future? I wouldn't make that bet. I against this because of overkill's track record, the fact that cheaters will bypass this in a split second anyway and all that will be left is a ton of false positives and a lot of butthurt. I think the natural reaction here is a simple "Fuck off".Īs for my personal opinion, I'm not against this because I support piracy. And of course, what are overkill's priority. Let's be honest, who expects actual cheaters to not find a work around to beat this. For one thing, there are still a million cheats out there which are not detected. It's basically just DRM wrapped up as the "anti-cheat" final solution that they say it is.
And that's with the generous assumption that the cheaters won't find a way to bypass this.
Basically, I think a lot of the community here has 0 confidence in overkill's ability to "auto-kick" "cheaters" without a lot of collateral damage. Also my toothbrush is missing, what happ- oh wait, ok, restart game time. Then there's the forementioned invalid weapons glitch, the grenade on Hoxton Day 2 cheater tag glitch, the COUNTLESS networking issues inherent in any peer-to-peer game.
For example, DP aced took almost a year to fix. Leading on from the previous point, Overkill has a terrible track record when it comes to QA and bug fixing. You're seeing a lot of invalid weapon flags because, yes, cheating is rampant, but also because of shitty overkill (TM) coding that means that anyone using a Gecko was getting tagged and using the Historical pack without owning the sniper pack or LMG pack meant that the relevant weapons would also get invalid tags As always, a bit of context works wonders:
